- Funeral services for Charles Maybee, former Dansville resident, prominent in musical circles in this area over twenty years ago, were held in Rochester on Tuesday and burial was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery in that city. Mr. Maybee, employed in the former Morey Nursery office and the office of the Blum Shoe Mfg. Co., here, took a very active part in vocal and instrumental music activities while in this village. A member of the Jenks orchestra, he played clarinet with the musical organization on many occasions, he was tenor soloist at the Presbyterian Church and took part in numerous home talent stage productions. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Maude Griffen Maybee; 3 daughters, Mrs. Philip Knapp, Mrs. Harold Palee and Miss Norma Maybee; one son, Griffen Maybee and two grandchildren

- Mrs. Maude Griffin Maybee died Wednesday. February 9, 1944, at her home 1943 East Main street, Rochester, N. Y, She was .the widow of Charles Maybee and for many years she and Mr. Maybee lived in Dansville during their early married life.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Knapp, Mrs. Harold Palee and Miss Norma Maybee of Rochester; one son. Griffin; one sister ,Mrs. Marguerite Chabouski of Dansville; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews
The funeral was held from the Trott Funeral Home, 683 East Main street. Saturday morning at 8:30. and services were held in St. John's Church, Humboldt street at nine o'clock. Interment in Holy Sepulcher cemetery
