  	Baldwin, L. I., Dec. 2 [1922]—The official commendation of the Nassau County Association has been extended to Viola Mabie of 29 Grove S., 16-year-old student in the Baldwin High School, for her unusual talents in drawing and painting. A poster which she executed, showing a pathetic small boy standing in a doorway and stretching his arms out toward tho sunlight, was selected among hundreds as cover decoration for the Nassau County Association's Tuberculosis Committee pamphlet and is being distributed throughout the county in the Christmas seal letters. For two years the young girl has been called on by many of the Baldwin societies for decorative posters, ind these have attracted much attention . Her parents plan to have her begin a course of study after the close of the present school year. Miss Mabie's father, Laurence Mabie, is a successful artist with a studio in Manhattan.
