  	Verlin Dean Mabie, 70, 2000 W. Wilden Ave., Goshen, who recently returned to Goshen after 12 years in Wisconsin, died at 4:30 a.m. today at Goshen General Hospital. He had been ill for some time with cancer. Mr. Mabie was a former employee of Western Rubber Co. And a member of the Goshen Moose Lodge. He was born Feb 2, 1912, in North Webster, to Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin (Eva Snoke) Mabie. On Nov 23, 1932, he married Mary Helen McDevitt, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Charles and Richard, both of Goshen, and James, Elkhart; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his mother, North Webster, and two brothers, Merl, Missouri, and Vernon, Syracuse. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, Syracuse, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Chester Reed will officiate. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Elkhart County Cancer Society.
