- Private funeral services will be held for the late Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Mabie, 45, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank H. Beck, 1331 Kinzie Street, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in Rice cemetery. The Rev. C.A. Sickafoose of the Castle United Brethren church will officiate. Mrs. Mabie died Saturday, of general paralysis at the state hospital at Logansport, where she had been a patient 14 years. She was the daughter of Parmenus and Melvina Williams, and was born in Niles Mich. On March 2, 1895. Her marriage to William Mabie took place in St. Joseph, Mich, on July 25, 1908, and soon afterward they located in Elkhart, where she remained until stricken with her long illness. Surviving are her husband, who lived in South Bend; a stepson, Charles Mabie of Elkhart; a step daughter, Mrs. William Messenger of Jackson, Mich., and five sisters - Mrs. John Beck, Mrs. Floyd Manwarren, Mrs. L.C. Pollard, and Mrs Madaline B. Williams, all of Elkhart; and the Mrs John Wolford of Niles.

- George W. Mabie, aged 80, of 934 North Berry Street, died in his residence at 10:20 p.m. Monday after an illness of several weeks. Born in Flint, Ind., Jan 8, 1856, he came here 25 years ago from Elkhart, Ind. On Jan 25, 1941 in Angola, Ind he married Mrs. Ida Heiner, who survives. Other survivors are a son, C.A. Mabie, Elkhart; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Messenger, Jackson, Mich., two stepsons, Henry Heiner, Elkhart, and Earl Heiner, South Bend; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one step great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Coulter, Sturgis, Mich; and Mrs. Ella Shamk, Elkhart. Friends may call in the Hay funeral home after 7 p.m. today until funeral services there at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Rev. A. E. Whitted, pastor of the Ardmore Brethren Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sturgis, Mich

- Charlie A. Mabie, 86, of 1508 E. Bristol St., died Monday evening in General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born Jan 21, 1889, in LaGrange. His first wife, Hazel, and three children were killed in an automobile accident April 28,1929. He then married Edna M. Stowe, Oct 24, 1931, in Elkhart. She survives with one daughter, Mrs Dewain (Ruby) Filley, Dowagiac; a stepson, Robert B. Stowe, Elkhart; six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Anna Messenger, Jackson, Mich. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home where services will be 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Thomas C. Kuhn, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery. Mr. Mabie retired Jan 8, 1954, from the New York Central Railroad where he was employed as a freight conductor for 37 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Legion of the Moose, and the Fellowship of the Moose. The Moose Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
