- James Mabie, 83, who moved to Elkhart from Warsaw 10 years ago, died Sunday night at his home, 534 Garfield Avenue, after having been bedfast for two weeks. The funeral will be held at the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in the Prairie Street Cemetery. The body is to be returned to the home of Dale White chapel, 129 South Second street, late this afternoon. Mr. Mabie, the son of James and Emily (Rogers) Mabie, was born Feb 10, 1856, in Kosciusko county. His marriage to Lillian Clark took place in Warsaw in 1906. She survives, with the following children, all residents of Elkhart: Arthur, Charles, and Edward Mabie and the Mesdames Pearl Barker, Hazel Hawkins, Rosetta Morrison, Gladys Petitt, and Dora Rowan. There are 28 grandchildren, a grandchild and a step-daughter, Mrs. Bertha Atchison of Pierceton, Ind. Mr. Mabie was a member of the Apostolic Faith church
