Lexington, Dawson County, Nebraska [9] |
- John Mabie, of Kearney, Neb., a former resident of this city, ended his life last Saturday morning by shooting himself in the head. He was despondent, out of work, and had no money. The remains were brought to Lexington Monday afternoon and interred in the Evergreen cemetery. He is survived by a son and two daughters.
Jack Mabie as he was known to the most of his friends, was in charge of the Union Pacific coal shutes in this city for many years and had a host of friends who will remember him as a generous hearted man. He left here about twenty years ago and located in Kearney where he has since resided, most of the time working in the U. P. Coal shutes in that city. He was 67 years of age.
