- Mrs Susan Mabee, wife of Ernest Mabee, of 31 John St, died on Wednesday at Horton Memorial Hospital, Middletown, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at St Stephens Church wit Rev Thomas Egan officiating. The Rosary will be recited of Friday evening at the Lazear Funeral Home....
Mrs Mabee was born in New York City on June 24, 1895, the daughter of Joseph Staffa and Concetta Farange. She had lived in Warwick about 35 years. She was a member of St Stephen's Church.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas of Warwick and Ernest of Greenwood Lake; four daughters, Mrs Gloria McCombs of Montgomery, Elizabeth, Mary and Wanda all of Warwick; three brothers, Dr A Staffa of Arlington, Va, Domenic Staff and Joseph Staffa of Long Island; two sisters, Mrs Vincanza Maneusco of Warwick, and Concetta Staffa of Long Island.

- Ernest V. Mabee, 78, of Old Dutch Hollow Road, Greenwood Lake, died Tuesday, July 11, in Goshen.
The son of John E. and Margaret Predmore Mabee, he was born in Vernon, N.J., on May 23, 1900.
A retired Village of Greenwood Lake employee, he was married to the late Susan Staffa Mabee.
Mr. Mabee is survived, by two sons, Ernest D. of Greenwood Lake and Thomas V. of Hewitt, N.J.; four daughters, Gloria McCombs, Wanda Pikul, Elizabeth and Mary Mabee, all of Goshen; two brothers, Preston of Bellvale and John of Warwick; three sisters, Viola Feist and Stella Howell, both of Warwick, and Margaret Batz of Bellvale; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Strong Funeral Home, Warwick.
Burial was in Warwick Cemetery

- Services were held Tuesday, Aug 16, for Ernest D. Mabee, Jr of Greenwood Lake, a carpenter who died Friday, Aug 12 in New York City. He was 37.
Born May 7, 1957 in Warwick, he was the son of Ernest D Sr and Doris Donald Mabee. He was a member of the Monroe-Chester Sportsmen Club, Monroe, and the Carpenters Union. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and a past member of the Greenwood Lake Volunteer Company, Greenwood Lake.
Mr Mabee is survived by his parents, of Greenwood Lake; one son Ernest D Mabee III, at home; and a sister Carol Ann Tiedemann of Warwick. Burial was in Warwick Cemetery, Warwick.

- Doris Joan Mabee, a lifelong resident of the area, and deli manager having worked at the Shop Rites in Warwick, Monroe, and Middletown, died Friday, January 4, 2008 at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. She was 69.
The daughter of Charles and Marjorie Donald, Sr., she was born July 10, 1938 in Greenwood Lake, NY.
She was an avid Avon Representative for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Mabee, Sr., at home; her daughter, Caryl Anne Tiedemann and her husband, John W. of Shohola, PA. She is also survived by her grandson, Ernest D. Mabee, III; her sisters, Marjorie Van Horn of Port Jervis, Charlotte Santopietro of Monroe, Laura Williams of Warwick and Carol Sue Mabee of Bellvale, and her brother, Charles Donald, Jr. of Monroe. She was predeceased by her son, Ernest Mabee, Jr.
Visitation hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 7, at the Strong-Basile Funeral Home, 4 Oak St., Greenwood Lake, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, NY.

- Ernest D. Mabee, Sr. of Greenwood Lake, passed away on February 23, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 86 years old.
Born on January 28, 1927 in Warwick, he was the son of the late Ernest Victor and Asunta (Susan) Staffa Mabee.
He was married for 52 years to the late Doris (Donald) Mabee, who passed away in 2008.
Mr. Mabee served with the Merchant Marines from 1941 to 1955, was a member of the American Merchant Marine Veterans and formerly served as President, and was an active member of Greenwood Lake American Legion Arthur Finnegan Post. He was the Superintendent of Highways with the Village of Greenwood Lake, was a volunteer fireman and life member of Greenwood Lake Fire Department, having served as past Chief, and was a member of the Greenwood Lake Fire Department Bowling League.
A family statement reads: "He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, was an avid fisherman and loved the sea. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Ernie, going fishing, hunting, and watching him play basketball, baseball and softball. He enjoyed gardening, mowing the lawn, was a great boxing fan, and especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends."
He is survived by his daughter, Caryl Ann Tiedemann and her husband, John W. of Shohola, PA and a four legged grandson, Potter; a grandson, Ernest D. Mabee III of Greenwood Lake and his fiance, Krystle Paccione, and their two Labrador retrievers, Winnie and Remi; his sisters: Mary Mabee, Elizabeth (Libby) Mabee, and Wanda Pikul, all of Goshen. He was predeceased by a son, Ernest D. Mabee II; a sister, Gloria McCombs and a brother, Thomas V. Mabee.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 26th, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery
