- John W. Mabie, 83, died at the home of his son, William Mabie of Tappan, after a short illness. The Mabie family, one of the oldest in the Tappan region, formerly ran the '76 House. Besides the son, Mr Mabie leaves a sister, Mrs Lester Mann.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the late home, the Rev. Ernest W. Churchill, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Nyack, officiating. Burial was in Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill
