- Bertrand Cyrus Mabie, well known farmer of near Colesville, was found dead in bed at his farm home there early Saturday morning by his hired man, Saul Hotalan. When the hired man arose in the morning to get ready for the milking he called to Mr. Mabie. Calling again and receiving no response he went to his room. He discovered him dead. Neighbors were notified. Coroner George H McCloughan, Jr., of Newton, was called. Death was believed due to heart trouble. Mr Mabie was in his sixtieth year. He was the son of Nicholas A. Mabie and Eliza E. Riggs Mabie. He was a lifelong resident of Wantage Township and was a successful farmer. He was twice married. His second wife, Daisy Maude Conway, died a few years ago. He is survived by his aged mother, who resides with a daughter, Mrs Albert Havens, of Wantage; a young son, Bertrand C. Mabie Jr.; one brother, Judson D. Mabie, of Lindhurst, L. I.; two sisters, Lela E. Wife of Parker McCoy, of Sussex; and Nina A., wife of Albert Havens, of Wantage. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of the sister, Mrs Parker McCoy, with Rev. W. H. Yarrow, pastor of Colesville Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Deckerville-Union Cemetery
