- Winchester, April 14 – Charles B Mabee died Friday and was buried Saturday afternoon. Mr Mabee came to Monteagle from Canada when it was simply a small station called Moffet. He said he and his father were the first postmasters at Monteagle. His mother is still living, He leaves a wife, married son O C Mabee; two married daughters, Mrs Crawford Douglas, of Chattanooga, and Mrs Will Thompson of Bridgeport, and several unmarried children.

- With a crushed skull and a badly mangled body, Crawford Douglas Mabee, 27, 1401 Park Avenue, Ensley, died instantly late Wednesday afternoon when his automobile overturned on the Jasper-Ensley Road. J W Conner, his companion, is suffering from internal injuries.
Mabee lost control of his car when a front tire blew out and the machine hurtled down an embankment, it was understood. The wreck was discovered by a motorist, who sent immediately to Carbon Hill for assistance.
Mabee was an employe of the Hammond Motor Company, Ensley. Connor's home is at 516 St Charles St, Birmingham. He is at Walker County Hospital in Jasper.
The body of Mabee was removed to the undertaking parlors of Echols & Angwin. He is survived by a 9-year-old son, C D Mabee, Jr, and six sisters, Mrs Virginia Clark, Mrs W J Thompson and Mrs N H Burt, all of Birmingham; Mrs C N Lauretzen, Mrs J N Goodson and Mrs D R Sprague, all of Chicago, and four brothers, George, Carl, Aaron and J T Mabee, all of Birmingham.

- Mrs Alice Mabee Douglass, of New York, a former Birmingham woman, died Friday at the residence of her daughter, Madame Roawl Chartintere, 2295 Montgomery Road, Cleveland, Ohio.
The body of Mrs Douglass will arrive in Birmingham Monday and will taken to the Elmwood Chapel, where funeral services will be held, burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs Douglass was prominent here and for many years was an active worker in church circles.
Her daughter, six sisters, Mrs Virginia M Clark, Mrs W J Thompson, Mrs N H Burt, Mrs C M Lauritzen, and Mrs Irene Gibson, of Chicago, and Mrs Dwight Stagg of Newark, NJ; and four brothers, Carl, Truman, Nagee, of Louisville, Ky, and Aaron, of Whittier, Calif, survive.

- James Aaron Mabee, a former resident of Birmingham and Nashville, died Wednesday at Long Beach, Calif, after an illness.
A native of Mount Eagle, Tenn, Mr Mabee had lived in California the last 33 years.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs Frankie Mabee. A son Charles Mabee, both of Long Beach; five sisters, Mrs W J Thompson, Mrs Cecelia Burt, Mrs V M Clark, Mrs Dwight Spragg, all of Birmingham, and Mrs C M Lauritzen, of Chicago; three brothers George Mabee, Hemet, California; J T Mabee, Chattanooga, Tenn, and Carl F Mabee, Mount Eagle, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at Long Beach.

- Mrs Cecilia Nathurst Burt, 82, of 2829 Ave South, lifelong resident of Birmingham, died Sunday night, at the residence.
Mrs Burt was a member of St Mary's on the Highlands, Episcopal Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Meta N Hahn of Birmingham, two sons, H D Nathurst of Birmingham, and Hugh Lee Nathurst of Ft Myers, Fla; three sisters, Mrs W J Thompson and Mrs W A McLendon of Birmingham and Mrs C. M. Lauritzen of Chicago, and two brothers, George A Mabee of Hemet, Calif, and Carl S Mabee of Mount Eagle, Tenn.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at Elmwood Chapel, The Rev David Cady Wright officiating.
