- Our most loving Alice Marie went to be with her Savior and Lord on January 25, 2010. Born in May 22, 2010, Wyoming December 24, 1931 to Chester Wendell and Eleonore Florence Schuelke Beaver, she was the eldest sister to Juliette Diller (deceased) and Carol Jean Moench. She married Raymond Clayton Watters in 1951 and Donald Eugene Mabie in 1968. She lived in Clearfield from 1968-76, Roy from 1981-97, and West Point and Syracuse for the last year. A 1950 graduate from Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she excelled in secretarial classes and was recognized as the top skill student of her class. Professionally, she served in Wyoming in key secretarial positions with the State of Wyoming, NY Life Insurance, Frontier Refinery Company, General Dynamics/Astronautics (GDA), and in Utah with Western Mortgage/United Savings and Ogden First Federal and Utah Federal Savings and Loans. As secretary to the Director of Communications for GDA at F.E. Warren AFB, she coordinated with military staff, which led her to be the first woman on an ATLAS missile site. Moves during her life also took her to New Mexico, California, and Colorado. Following her retirement, she returned to Cheyenne and stayed in the family home to provide companionship, love, and primary care to her mother until Eleonore's death at the age of 100. Alice had a variety of passions and always found the tenderness in life. She loved anything about Wyoming, from football to the wind and prairies; NASCAR; working in the yard; rocks; oil painting; bird watching; needlework; communing with nature while camping, fishing, and hunting; enjoying a cup of coffee; visiting with others; watching the day rise and set; history; and, especially, music having played the organ and piano at various churches she attended over the years. Her associations have been with the Audubon Society, National Secretaries Association, PTO, Job's Daughters, PEO, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is a direct descendent of Mayflower passenger, Stephen Hopkins. Survived by children Rev. Dr. Ronald (Alice) Watters, Linda (Joseph) Stanley, and Raymond (Karen) Watters; step-children Jerry (Leslie) Mabie, Patricia Snook, and Thomas Mabie (deceased); grandchildren Jon (Kylie) Watters, Michelle (Aaron) Larsen, Stephanie Watters, Amber Ebersole, Ashley Stanley, Brydon Stanley, and Sophia Watters; great-grandchildren Anthony Ebersole and Cameron Sanders; sister Carol (Dave) Moench; and, brother-in-law Don Diller. Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at the Clearfield Community Church, 200 S. 500 E. in Clearfield. Internment in Cheyenne, Wyoming at a later date. In memory of Alice remember to enjoy the simple things in life, give a big hug to someone daily, and pick up an artifact along your way. Cremation under the direction of Leavitt's Crematory.

- Mary Jane Holmes, 67, died March 5, 1998, in Desert Valley Hospital. Cause of death is pending a doctor's report.
Born in Cheyenne, Wyo., Holmes lived in Hesperia for 12 of the 29 years she lived in California. She was a homemaker.
Holmes is survived by her husband, Dennis, son, Jerry Mabie of San Francisco; and daughter Patricia Snook of Sacramento.
Visitation is scheduled ... in the Kern Memorial Chapel, Victorville. Services will be Tuesday at graveside in Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Apple Valley. The services will be officiated by Pastor Joe Vail.

- Donald E. Mabie, 74, of Cheyenne died Jan. 5 in Cheyenne. He was born March 28, 1930, in Cheyenne.
He was a third-generation, oldest son of a Wyoming pioneer family. A tough-minded independent, with the qualities that made it possible to survive the harsh Western plains winters. He loved the open spaces, hunting and fishing and was happy to share his knowledge.
Mr. Mabie graduated with an electrical engineering degree from the University of Wyoming in 1955. He finished his engineering career in 1980 when he retired to run the family farm and Lotta's Soda Fountain in Chugwater. He was proud to have brought the malt back to Platte County.
Mr. Mabie left us after an extended stretch of bad health. He will be missed by family, friends and pets.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Leslie Mabie; a daughter, Patricia (Mabie) Snook; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Marge Mabie of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Jay, Jennifer, Julie and Jackie Mabie, Ron Watters, Linda (Watters) Stanley, Ray Chet Watters, Jon, Michelle, Stephanie, Amber, Ashley, Brydon; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Cameron; and Nina, Cali, Goldie, Smokey, Dusty, birds, squirrels and rabbits on Cheshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Marian Mabie.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

- Alice Marie Beaver Watters Mabie, 78, died Jan. 25 in Cheyenne.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of Chimes. Internment will be at a later date.
