South Bend, Ind. Ruth M. Doyle, 82, 127 N.le Blvd. de la Paix, died at home yesterday.
Funeral services will be at St. Matthew Cathedral, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, at 11 A.M. EST. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Cemetery.
Her son, the Rev. Charles Doyle, pastor of St. Ann of the Dunes, Beverly Shores, In., will con-celebrate the funeral Mass with Gary Diocesan Bishop Andrew G. Grutka. Friends may call at Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson St, South Bend, from 2-4:30 and 7-9 EST tomorrow.
Mrs Doyle was born in Berwick, Ohio, July 23, 1896, to Peter and Theresa (Koerper)Serin. On May 6, 1922, she married Thomas C. Doyle, who died Oct 12, 1951.
Survivors include four sons bedsides the Rev. Doyle, State Rep. Richard D. Doyle, and Thomas, both of South Bend; John T., Indianapolis, and J. Patrick, Houston; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Doyle was retired from Notre Dame University, where she worked for the Notre Dame Foundation. She was a member of St. Matthew's Altar and Rosary Society, Harvest House and Daughters of Isabella.

Mrs. Ruth Doyle, 82, of 127 N. le Blvd. de la Paix, was found dead of natural causes about 6 P.M. Monday in her residence. She was employed by the Notre Dame Foundation at the University of Notre Dame. She was born July 23, 1896, in Berwick, Ohio, and had lived here since 1942 coming from Nappanee. On May 6, 1922, in Berwick, she married Thomas C. Doyle Sr, who died Oct 12, 1951, Surviving are five sons, Thomas C. Doyle, Jr. and Richard Doyle, a state representative, both of South Bend, Rev. Charles E. Doyle of Beverly Shores, John T. Doyle of Indianapolis, J. Patrick Doyle of Houston, Tex; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 A.M. Thursday in St. Matthew Cathedral with the Rev. Charles E. Doyle of St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church, Beverly Shores, officiating and the Most Rev. Andrew G. Gurtka, D.D., bishop of the Gary Diocese, co-celebrating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4:30 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson. She was a member of St. Matthew Church, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, the Harvest House and the Daughters of Isabella.
