- At his home, R.R.#7 Tillsonburg on Saturday, February 14th, 2004, Charles L. ("Chuck") Mabee a lifelong resident of Tillsonburg in his 73rd year. Born December 6th, 1931 son of the late Basil D. Mabee (Tillsonburg) and the late former Madolene Beesley (Straffordville). ("Chuck" was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Tillsonburg). (His parents and family formerly owned the Mabee Hardware Store Tillsonburg). (Chuck and Kathy were co-proprietors of the former The Feed Store and Garden Centre, Tillsonburg and he also drove truck for Car Carrier). Much loved husband of 50 years of C. Katherine ("Kathy") (Richardson) Mabee. Much loved father of Paul Mabee and his wife Diana of Brownsville and Heather Mabee of Brampton. Proud and loving grandfather of David Mabee, Melissa Mabee and Christopher Mabee. Dear brother of Thomas and Margaret Mabee of Tillsonburg. Survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. "Chuck" will be missed by the Richardson family. Reunited in Heaven with a much loved son David Mabee (1974). Friends and relatives are welcome to meet with the Mabee family and share memories during visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (842-4238). Funeral Service to Celebrate The Life of ("Chuck") Mabee to be conducted on Wednesday, February 18th at 2 p.m. in the Verhoeve Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Gary Shuttleworth of the St. Paul's United Church, Tillsonburg. Cremation to follow. Later Spring Interment in the Mabee family plot in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the St. Paul's United Church or the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital - Dialysis Fund would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. - A funeral for Charles L. "Chuck" Mabee, 72, of RR7 Tillsonburg, has been arranged for Wednesday, February 18, at Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg at 2 p.m.
He died at home on February 14, 2004. Mr. Mabee and wife Kathy owned and operated Mabee Field Stone and Garden Centre in Tillsonburg. He also drove truck for a car carrying company.
Mr. Mabee was born December 6, 1931, to the late Basil D. and Madolene (Beesley) Mabee. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, C. Katherine "Kathy" (Richardson) Mabee; a son, Paul Mabee and wife Dina of Brownsville; a daughter, Heather Mabee of Brampton; grandchildren David, Melissa and Christopher Mabee. He is also survived by a brother Thomas Mabee and wife Margaret of Tillsonburg, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son David Mabee in 1974.
The Rev. Gary Shuttleworth of St. Paul's United Church, Tillsonburg will conduct the services with cremation to follow.
