- Master Sergeant Ollie D. Mabee, 76, of Warner Robins, Ga, formerly of Sioux Falls, died Aug 8 in Dublin, Ga.
He was born in Parker, S.D., and was married to Handchin. They lived in Sioux Falls from 1947 to 1951.
Survivors include a son, Dean, Jacksonville, N.C.; a daughter Mrs Robert Tate, Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a half sister, Mrs Warren Miller. Sioux Falls.

- MGYSGT Ollie Dean Mabee Jr. Retired USMC, "Pops" "Sparky," 81, of Jacksonville, died March 4, 2012, at Carolina East Medical Center.
Mr. Mabee was a retired veteran of the United States Marine Corps after 34 years of service, having served in Vietnam and the Korean conflict. At the time of his retirement he was a senior enlisted Marine. A retired civil service employee after 16 years of service with Cherry Point and was a Mason, Port Royal, S.C., and a member of Maple Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Cavanaugh Mabee of the home; four sons, Richard Mabee and wife, Kate of Clear Water, Fla., Ronald Dean Mabee and wife, Beverly, Jerry N. Jarman and wife, Lisa, and Rick P. Jarman, all of Jacksonville; four daughters, Rita Waller and husband Michael, Deborah Conway and husband, Hercules Sr., all of Jacksonville, Tammy Williams and partner Lori of Ayden, and Kimberly Mabee Mobley and husband, Daryll of Richlands; one sister, JoAnne Tate of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandchildren, Michelle Elliott, Krystal Harrison, Ashley Miksch, Kari Cobb, Thomas Gibson, Josh Jarman, Seth Jarman, Patrick Jarman, Zachary Mabee, Phillip Williams, Matthew Williams, Amanda Williams, Kayla Williams, Douglas Dean Mabee, and Elizabeth Mobley; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Mabee; and a brother, Maitland Mabee.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Johnson Funeral Home Jacksonville with the Rev. Mickey Cox and the Rev. Mike Koonce officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
