- Funeral services for Larry George Mabee, 10 year old son of Mr and Mrs George Mabee (Lorraine Armstrong) of Reforestry Station were conducted Wednesday afternoon from Johnson Bros. Fureral Home.
Rev J. S. Lowden of St Williams Baptist Church conducted the service and pallbearers were David Heald, Gerald Haydt, Bruce Carl, Norman Carl, and James Carl. School friends were floral bearers, Interment was in the Silver Hill Cemetery.
There were six Gideon Bibles, four cancer donations, and many beautiful floral tributes. Among the tributed were those from the Staff and Pupils of Charlotteville.
Larry who would have celebrated his 11th birthday in October, wa a pupil of Charlotteville Area School and attended St Williams Baptist Sunday School. His tragic death occurred Sunday on the farm of his uncle, John Mabee, RR1, Staffordville, when the tractor on which he was riding, rolled on him. He is survived by his parents, four younger brothers and sisters, and his grandparents, Mr and Mrs James Mabee and Walter Armstrong.

- Services for Mrs James A. Mabee, 69, 126 Grove Street, Simcoe, who died Thursday at Norfolk General Hospital, will be held Monday, at 3 pm, at the Marvyn M Veale Funeral Home. Canon Harvey Parker will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mrs Mabee will be at the funeral home from Saturday evening.
The former Louise Mary Winter was born in England, the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Jack Winter. She came to Canada as a child, was educated in Simcoe and was married here to James Mabee 52 years ago. She was of the Anglican faith.
Besides her husband, she is survived by children Murray, Forestville; George, Walshingham; John, Drumbo; Walter, New Hamburg; and Laura, Simcoe; brothers, William, Port Dover; Walter W., Simcoe; and Jack, Courtland; sisters, Mrs George (Nell) Donnel, Vittoria; Mrs Gordon (Ruth) Howick, Simcoe; and Mrs Edith Lucas, Delhi; 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank Bruck, John Swick, James Riddall, William, James and John Carl.

- Barbara Mabee passed away peacefully with loving family by her side, on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018, at her home, Talbot Road North, Simcoe, Barbara (Sargent) (Myke) Mabee, formerly of RR1 Walsingham, at the age of 77 years. Barb was a member of the former Walsingham United Church and U.C.W. Barb's legacy is her love and care for her family. She was caregiver to her late husband George for a long period of time. Predeceased by her beloved husband George Mabee (April 21, 1999). Also predeceased by her first husband Harvey E. Myke (December 5, 1980). Survived by children: Chancey (Marti) Myke of Tillsonburg, Rose Myke of Simcoe, James Mabee of Simcoe, Wayne (Muriel) Mabee of Delhi, and Helen Mabee (George Johnson) of Simcoe. Loving grandma of 5 grandchildren: Morgan (Kyle) Mayo, Jeffery (Catrina) Myke, Jason (Michael) Mabee, Harvey (Georgina) Mabee, Walter Mabee, and 9 great-grandchildren. Survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Andrew James Sargent and the former Doris (Woods) Sargent. Also predeceased by step-sons, Larry Mabee (1961) and Don Mabee (July 30, 2015), and a daughter Jane Myke (2014).
Public Visitation is Tuesday, January 16th, from 10am to 11am at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes-Burial and Cremation Services Inc, 40 Queen Street, Langton. Funeral Service to celebrate Barbara's life to be conducted on Tuesday at 11am in the funeral home chapel by Rev. Ward Taylor of Simcoe. Inurnment to follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Walsingham. Memorial donations are to "Diabetes Canada" or "Children's Health Foundation"
