- Carl A. Mabie, age 89, passed away peacefully, on January 12, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna
Mabie; four children, Jill (Mark) McWilliams, Randy (Hannah) Mabie, Lisa (Tim) Hatch and Carla (Karl) Lutomski; 12 grandchildren, Sean (Mary) McWilliams, Brian (Sarah) McWilliams, Chris McWilliams, Kelly McWilliams (Max Landon), Cayla (James) Sullivan, Alec Mabie, Bryce (Allie) Wieland, Chase Wieland, Colby Wieland, Brynlee Lutomski (Hunter Harding), Braxten Lutomski and Brittan Lutomski; two great-grandchildren, Sloan and Lochlan. He was predeceased by two siblings.
Carl was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of New Brunswick. Carl worked at Canandaigua National Bank for many years, from where he retired. He was a member of the First Congregational Church for over 50 years and sang in the choir. Carl was an avid skier and dedicated member of the Bristol Mountain Ski Patrol for over 35 years. He was a member of the "dogs" at Bristol Harbour Golf Course for years.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the First Congregational Church at a later date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, 58 N. Main St., Canandaigua, NY 14424 or Light Hill (comfort care home), 5160 Parrish Street Ext., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua. - The passing of Frederick Walter Brown of Fredericton, NB, husband of Gertrude (Mabie) Brown occurred on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 20, 1935 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Charles and Amber (Collings) Brown. He was a member of the Smokey Mokes, Fredericton Society of Artists, Red Sweater Choir, I Am Ministry, The Order of Saint Luke, St. Margarets Healing Services and also a former Scout Master. In addition to his wife, Fred is survived by his sons Tony Brown (Doris) and David Brown (Janice) all of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Timothy (Jacinda), Kristen, Alexander and Alyssa Brown; great grandchildren, Braydyn, Jackson and Dalice Brown; sister, Delia Hachey of Stanley, NB; sister-in-law, Edith Mabie of Fredericton, NB; brother-in-law, Carl Mabie (Donna) of New York State. Besides his parents, he was pre- deceased by his niece, Iris Young; mother-in-law, Violet Mabie; father-in-law, Albert Mabie; brothers-in-law, Donald Mabie, Mullen Young and Louis Hachey. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Alex and Tim Brown, Matthew Dextraze, Graham and Colin Smith and John Patterson; Honourary Pallbearers are Jim Steen, Ian MacDonald, Walter Brown, Glen Stairs, Walter Young, Wendall Collicot, Doug Ashfield, George Dayton and Dow Price. Reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
