  	Memorial services will be Thursday for Eleanor "Ellie" Mabie, who died Sunday at Stanford Medical Center after a short illness related to cardiac complications. She was 72. Mrs Mabie, a native Californian, was the daughter of Swedish immigrants and served in the US Navy during World War II. She was employed for many years as a school secretary. After retirement, enjoyed her family, friends, volunteer work, and traveling, especially with such recreational vehicle groups as Cabrillo Viajeros and Shrine Nomads. She was active in the Service League of Watsonville Community Hospital and YWCA of Watsonville Thrift Shop. She was also a member of Philanthropic Education Organization, the Vasa Valhalla Lodge of Santa Cruz, and attended First Baptist Church of Watsonville. She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Eldon Mabie of Watsonville; two sons, Jerry Mabie of San Jose and Ken Mabie of Aptos; a daughter, Julie Ann Mabie of San Diego; a sister Ethel Jeffers of Richmond, Va; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Thursday at First Baptist Church of Watsonville. Private cremation and burial will be at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
