- Morris Maybee, aged 87 years, died Sunday, October 12 at 4:30 am at the home of his daughter, Mrs Jennie Felt, 224 E. Emmett St, after a lingering illness of a complication of diseases.
Mr Maybee was born in Canada on December 20, 1832 and when a small boy he moved with his parents to the state of New York and as a young man worked as a raftman on the river, later he lived in Michigan. On August 21, 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Smith in the town of Scott. Mr Maybee lived on a farm in Fort Winnebago for many years with his family, his wife having died 19 years ago. He has made his home for the past 18 years with his dayghter, Mrs Fred Felt, who has tenderly and faithfully cared for him since.
He is survived by four children, Mrs Jennie Felt, and Mrs Wm Bishop of this city, Mrs Edwin Rice of Greys River, Wash., and one son William in the west. Three grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock from the home of Mrs Jennie Felt, 224 E. Emmett St, Rev. Speegle of the Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
