- Burl L. Maybee, 85, a longtime Yakima resident, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Willow Springs. Burl was born June 30, 1921, at Highlandville, Missouri, to Eugene and Minnie (Roberts) Maybee. He was raised and educated in Springfield, Missouri, and married Beatrice Haslip on November 15, 1941, in Ozark, Missouri. The family moved to Yakima in 1958.
Burl worked as a hod carrier for many years and was a member of the Laborer's Union. He retired when he was 58 years old.
He deeply loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his four sons, twins Tim (Florence) Maybee of Selah and Jim (Faye) Maybee of Yakima, and Larry (Pearl) Maybee and Keith (Abbie) Maybee, all of Yakima; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; three sisters, Murl Wells and Velva Rose, both of Springfield, Missouri, and Barbara Harley of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Leo (Marian) Maybee of Moxee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burl was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Minnie Maybee; his wife, Beatrice Maybee on February 9, 1990; three brothers, Clifford, Clinton and Ray; and one sister, Faye.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2006, at West Hills Memorial Park. Those attending should meet at the cemetery

- Leola Murl Wells passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Manor Care Nursing Home. She was born June 30, 1921 in Riverdale, Missouri to Noah Eugene and Minnie Arsalina (Roberts) Maybee.
Married on Sept. 12, 1941 to Glenn R. Wells, Murl worked as a produce egg inspector and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She participated in the blind organization and loved playing bingo at Manor Care.
Preceding Murl in death were her husband; parents; brothers, Clifford, Ray and Burl Maybee (Twin to Murl) and sister, Fay Brock.
Survivors include sons, Raymond Wells and Clarence Lee Wells; daughter, Glenda Cassoday; sisters, Velva Rose and Barbara Harley; brother, Leo Maybee; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Barbara was raised by Murl.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 6-8 pm in Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel, 5234 W. State Hwy. EE, Springfield. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb 23, 2011 at 2 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

- Don “Donny” Lee Maybee, 58, of Moxee died Saturday at Kindred Hospital in Seattle. Mr. Maybee was born in Yakima. He worked at Western Materials for 35 years.
Survivors include his parents, Leo and Marian Maybee of Moxee; and his brother, Paul Maybee of Moses Lake.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 13 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home of Yakima. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 14 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Hills Memorial Park.
