  	Joan E. Mabee, a lifetime Middletown resident, died on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at her home. She was 83. The daughter of the late John and Lena Henrietta Eggler Warren, she was born on April 16, 1931 in Matamoras, PA. She married Ira Mabee in 1953 in Middletown and they shared 42 years together. She worked as a para professional for the City of Middletown School System for many years. Joan was a longtime member, former Deacon and Sunday School teacher of First Presbyterian Church in Middletown. She is survived by her children: Ira J. and Mary Jo Mabee of Boca Raton, FL, Margaret and Bill Brown and Janice Mabee, all of Bloomingburg, and Charles Mabee of Middletown; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ira and daughter, Mary Jean Callan. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 19th at United Presbyterian Church, Orchard St. in Middletown. Burial will follow at Wallkill Cemetery in the family plot.

  	Mary J. Callan of Walden, a medical biller with EMJS Medical Billing in Walden and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the Horton Medical Center in Middletown. She was 46 years of age. The daughter of Joan Warren Mabee and the late Ira Mabee, she was born August 12, 1955, in Middletown. Mrs. Callan was a member of Woodmen of the World. She is survived by her husband, Huntley "Bucky" Callan Sr., at home; her mother of Middletown; five children, Huntley Callan Jr., at home, Cheryl Callan of Walden, Christopher G. Callan of Ridgewood, N.J., and Danielle M. Callan and Michael J. "Mouse" Callan, both at home; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ira J. and Jo Mabee of Boca Raton, Fla., and Charles Mabee of Middletown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and William Brown of Bloomingburg and Janice and Sgt. Carlos Perez of Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 West Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be made in the Wallkill Cemetery in Phillipsburg.
  Witness-Obituary	Ira Mabee of Middletown, a retired baker for Clover Knoll Farms, Hamptonburgh, and a lifelong resident of the area, died Sunday, March 19, at home. He was 75. The son of the late Nicholas and Clara Mulhair Mabee, he was born June 23, 1919, in Hamptonburgh. He was a World War II Army veteran; treasurer for the D S Burrows Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5; and member of American Legion Post 151, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5523, the First Presbyterian Church of Middletown, and the Woodmen of the World 381. Survivors include his wife, Joan E Warren Mabee, at home; three daughters, Margaret Brown of Bloomingburg, Mary Callan of West Havershaw, and Janice Perez of Monticello; three sons, Russell Mabee of Georgia, Ira J Mabee of Boynton Beach, Fla, and Charles Mabee, at home; four sisters, Margaret Lattimer of Goshen, Mary Johnson of New Paltz, Jean Kamrowski of Warwick, and Myrilda Lisack of Goshen; one brother Mike Mulhair of Guilford; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
