- Prayer services for Mrs. Vernie Francis Deadmond, 86, Grove, who died at noon Thursday at Grove General Hospital following a short illness, will be at 4:30 p.m. today at Worley Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Johns will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Olympus Cemetery, Grove.
Mrs. Deadmond was born Dec. 27, 1881, in Bates County, Missouri. She married Pearl Maybee March 19, 1908. He died Aug. 4, 1966. She later married William Deadmond, who preceded her in death. She moved to Grove in 1965 and was a member of Grove First .Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Finks, Grove; two sons, George Maybee, Escalon, Calif., and Ralph Maybee, Brookings, Ore.; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and five great-greatgrandchildren

- Dorothylee "Dody" Heath Maybee, 78, Brookings, died May 8, 2002, in her home in Brookings after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She, was born April 5, 1924, in Woodward Okla., to Hugh D. and Lela M. Heath.
She married Ralph J. Maybee in 1942. They moved to Richmond; Calif., to work in the ship yards during the World War II homefront effort They moved to Brookings 27 years ago.
Mrs. Maybee retired as a US Postal worker and was a life-long member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Prior to her illness, she was an active member of Chetco Senior Center and a past member of the Emblem Club in Brookings. She enjoyed fishing, playing golf and traveling the country and Mexico with her husband
She is survived by five brothers, Lawrence, Hugh, Frank and Landon Heath and sister, Alice Maxine Heath of Oklahoma and Texas.
She is also survived by her husband; children, Joe Wayne Maybee of Modesto, Calif., and Alice Marie Maybee of Brookings.
Grandchildren include Stephanie Anne Maybee of Walnut Creek, Calif., Chief Warrant Officer 3 Johnny E- Cope Jr. of Enterprise, Ala., Cherylee (Cheri) Ann Cope McCorkle and her husband, Robert McCorkle of Brookings,
Also surviving are four great-grandchildren. Marissa Marie Cope-Harvey, Jeffrey Cope Rodriquez, Joshua Allan McCorkle and Elizabeth Nicole Rodriquez.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and infant brother, Hoover Heath.
At Mrs. Maybee request she will be cremated and there will be no funeral services.

- Gladys Lavernia Finks, 92, a 1ongtime resident of Okmulgee, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 in Okmulgee. She was born Thursday, May 11, 1912 to Pearl and Vernie (McCool) Mabee in Gage, Oklahoma.
Survivors include one son, Rick Finks and wife Sue of Okmulgee; one daughter, Betty McCann of Olatha, Kansas; one brother, Ralph Mabee of Oregon; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home in Okmulgee
