- Mrs. Minnie F. Maybee, aged 55, died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at her home, 705 German street. She had been ailing for about six months and had been seriously ill for two weeks. Mrs. Maybee was born June 23, 1883 in Huntington county to Frederick and Augusta Huebner. Her marriage was to Jesse Maybee April 22, 1904. Surviving are the husband and the children, Ethel Maybee, at home, George Maybee, Zion, Ill., Mrs. Leona Mitten, city, Mrs. Wilma Garrison, city, and Robert Maybee, city; three brothers, Frank Huebner, Jenison, Mich., Fred Huebner, city, and William Huebner, Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Coles, city, and Mrs. Clara Fields, Jackson township, and six grandchildren. Two children, Donald and Margaret, and a brother, Carl Huebner, are deceased. She was a member of the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran church where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. W. J. Schnedler officiating. Interment will be in Pilgrims Rest cemetery

- Jesse Jefferson Maybee, 59, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence, 705 German Street. He worked at the Caswell-Runyan company plant until last November when he retired because of falling health. Mr. Maybee was born January 30, 1883 in Huntington to George and Clara Jones Maybee. He married Minnie Huebner, April 27, 1904. Mrs. Maybee died April 20, 1939. Surviving are five children, Miss Ethel Maybee, city; George Maybee, Zion, Ill.; Mrs. Leona Mitten, Mrs. Wilma Garrison, and Robert Maybee, all of this city. There are eight grandchildren. One brother and one sister are dead. Mr. Maybee was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran church and was the custodian there for several years.
The body was returned to the family residence where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran

- George F. Maybee, 65, a resident of 705 German St., and a retired employee of Orton Crane Co., died at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Zion-Benton Hospital at Zion, Ill. He had been visiting his son, Harold Maybee Sr., Zion, Ill., after a two months visit with family in California. He was born on November 19, 1906, at Huntington to Jesse and Minnie Huebner Maybee and his last marriage was on December 21, 1952, to Ruth Maples Davis who died June 2, 1971. Surviving are two sons, George F. Maybee Jr., Arlington Heights, Ill. and Harold J. Maybee, Sr., Zion, Ill.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Roscoe (Mary) Buchner, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. James D. (Anna Jane) Stanley, Huntington; four step-sons, Lew Lenwell, Huntington; Fred L. Lenwell, Santa Monica, Calif.; Donald B. Lenwell, El Cajon, Calif.; and James Lenwell, Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Ethel Maybee, at home and Mrs. Wilma Garrison, Huntington; and a brother, Robert Maybee, Huntington. Deceased is a sister, Mrs. Leona Mitten. Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday at the Bailey Mortuary where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Ivan R. Woods, Wolcott, officiating. Burial will be in the Markle Cemetery.

- Ethel E. Maybee, 86, 705 German St., died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday at Lutheran Homes, Fort Wayne. Miss Maybee was a former employee of Schacht Rubber Co., retiring in 1967 after 48 years of service. She also worked for 37 years as a secretary at St. Peter Lutheran School, and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She was born July 24, 1904, in Allegheny, Pa., to Jesse and Minnie Huebner Maybee. Surviving are a brother, Robert Maybee, Fort Wayne; a sister, Wilma Garrison, Colorado Springs, Colo., and several nieces and nephews. A brother, George Maybee, and a sister, Leona Mitten, are deceased. Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at Bailey-Love Mortuary and after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with Rev. Robert L. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the St. Peter Lutheran Church building fund.

- Juanita M. Maybee, 83, a resident of Concord Village Lutheran Homes Inc., Fort Wayne, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday at the home. Mrs. Maybee was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Huntington. She was a 1933 graduate of Huntington High School. She was born May 3, 1915, in Huntington to Edwin E. and Irene Kessler Ford. She married Robert W. Maybee in Huntington on May 27, 1937. They lived in Huntington until moving to Green Valley, Ariz., in 1978, and then to Concord Village Lutheran Homes Inc., Fort Wayne, in 1989. Her husband survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert W. Maybee Jr., Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Alice) Stallsmith, Sahuarita, Ariz., and Mrs. Ronald (Madonna) Abbot, Columbia City; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, LeRoy Ford, Fort Wayne; and a sister, Mrs. Archie (June) Slater, Kennewick, Wash. A brother, Paul Ford, preceded her in death. Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Allen T. Goebbert will officiate at the service. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County. Preferred memorials are to the donor's choice

- Robert W. Maybee Sr., 82, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday (April 18, 1999) at Lutheran Homes Inc., Fort Wayne, where he was a resident. He had been a resident of 1072 Zahn St. until moving to Green Valley, Ariz., in 1978 and Lutheran Homes Inc. in 1989. Mr. Maybee retired from Ward Pattern Engineering, Fort Wayne, and had previously worked for the Economy Machine Company and the Caswell Utah Speaker Company, both of Huntington. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Huntington, and graduated from Huntington High School in 1934. He was born Nov. 22, 1916, in Huntington to Jessie and Minnie Huebner Maybee. He married Juanita Ford May 27, 1937, in Huntington. His wife died Aug. 5, 1998. Survivors include a son, Robert W. Maybee Jr., Decatur; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Alice) Stallsmith, Sahuarta, Ariz., and Mrs. Ronald (Madonna) Abbott, Columbia City; a sister, Wilma Garrison, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Maybee, and two sisters, Leona Mitten and Ethel Maybee.
