- Florence R. Quandt, 96, The Harmony Home, Denmark, died Feb.20,2000.
She was born Feb. 15, 1904, in Wausau to the late Louis Maybee and Nellie Sheppard. She married Hale Quandt Dec. 3, 1927, in Cuba City, Wis. Florence attended elementary and high schools in Wausau and was a graduate of Chicago Teachers College, class of 1925. In 1947 she moved to Stevens Point where she was a former member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was past Matron of Arbutus Chapter No. 52, Order of Eastern Star and Mother Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, Assembly No. 1, at Stevens Point. Survivors include four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jonathon Quandt, both of Beaver Dam, Jayme Krueger and Jody Romberg, both of Marion; one daughter-in-law, Helen Quandt, Greenleaf, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hale, on June 30, 1968 ,and one son, Jerry, in 1993. In accordance with Florence's wishes there was no funeral service
