- Arthur Mabee, 83, of 392 Brooktondale, died Wednesday, February 4, 1962 in the Dodd Nursing Home, Ithaca. Mr. Mabee was employed at C. J. Rumsey and Co. for about 19 years. He retired about 14 years ago. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillian Lynch Mabee, a daughter, Mrs. Albert Spada of Brooktondale, a son, Donald of Interlaken, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the Quick Cemetery, Brooktondale

- Donald J. Mabee of Interlaken, passed away at the Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at the age of 88.
Born on May 24, 1918 in Ithaca, Don was the son of Arthur and Lillian Lynch Mabee.
Don served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, flying 35 missions over Germany as a waist gunner on B-17's, with the eighth Air Force. On September 24, 1945, he received an honorable discharge with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In the late 1940's, Don accepted a position with Shulman Furniture in Ithaca. While employed at Shulman Furniture he lived in Brooktondale. In the late 1960's, he moved to Interlaken where he owned and operated Mabee Gas Station & Clover Farm Store. During this time Don also raised Black Angus beef cattle.
Don is survived by one son, Robert Mabee of Interlaken; one daughter, Joan Lincoln of Grand Island; one sister, Helen Spada of Brooktondale; five grandchildren, Gwen Lincoln-Strum, Tracey Donaldson, Trisha Firth, Kim Lincoln-Dresser and Neal Lincoln; and seven great-grandchildren, Brett, Danny, Kristy, Cassie, Jackie, Megan and Peter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ailene; and one granddaughter, Pam Lincoln.
In keeping with Don's wishes, no services have been scheduled.

- Helen Spada, 87, formerly of Brooktondale, NY, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Groton Nursing Facility. Born in the town of Caroline October 22, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian Lynch Mabee. Survivors include sons: Ron (Laurie) Spada of Ithaca, and Jeff (Mia) Spada of Ithaca, daughter, Terry (Dan) Mayes of Hector, grandchildren, Ron Jr., Donyae, Kyron, RobLee, Marisa, Allie and Rocco, great-grandchildren, Jewel, Beau, Kylee, Sydney and Zachary.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held Thursday April 14, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Bangs Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Marcoux officiating. Burial to follow at the Quick Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to the time of services at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers memorial Donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. in Helen's memory
