- Mrs Janet Anderson Mabey, 35, of Provo, formerly of Ogden, was killed in a one-car rollover in Provo Canyon Monday morning. Mrs Mabey was educated in Ogden Schools, Graduating from Ogden High School and later Weber State College and Brigham Young University
She has been prominent in dance circles and was choreographer for the production of "All Faces West" in 1951. While at Weber State, she was a member of LaDianaeda and the Orchestra at Brigham Young University.
Mrs Mabey was born July 25, 1929 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Lloyd E. and Agnes Ricks Anderson. She was married to Melvin P. Mabey Aug 20, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Active in the LDS Church, she had been president of the Relief Society in Provo and served as officer and teacher in the auxiliary organizations, including MIA president while residing in England. Surviving are her husband, a professor in the political science department at Brigham Young University, nine sons and daughters: Tanya, Lynn, David, Paul, Mark, Richard, Eric, Stephen, and Rebecca Mabey, all of Prove, her parents of Ogden, two brothers and one sister: Richard Anderson, Provo, Karl Anderson, Clearfield, and Mrs Dale (Margaret) Gustaveson, Ogden

- Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Thursday for Mrs. Janet Faye Anderson Mabey, 35, Provo, fatally injured Monday in a tragic accident which also hospitalized eight of her children.
Mrs. Mabey, wife of Dr. Melvin Mabey, was driving. her family bus-type vehicle down Provo Canyon when it failed to make a curve just below Vivian Park.. With her were eight of her nine children and all were hospitalized. Six of the eight were still in the Utah Valley Hospital today, all in satisfactory condition. They are David, 10; Mark, 8; Rebecca, 1; Paul, 9; Lynn, 11, and Richard, 6. The other two, Eric, 4, and :Steven, 3, have been released are being cared for at the home of their uncle, Richard Anderson; 1857 N. 5th E.
By a strange coincidence, Mrs. Richard Anderson, the former. Carma de Jong, was injured in another accident Saturday and is also still in the. hospital today in satisfactory condition
The ninth child of Dr. and Mrs. Mabey was not with her mother at the time of the crash. This child is also at the Anderson home.
Mrs. Mabey died soon after noon Monday several hours after the crash: Her husband, an associate professor of history and political science at Brigham Young University, was notified of the accident as he prepared to take off from New York, in charge of a BYU study tour for .Europe. He flew back and arrived in Provo early this morning. The. tour group continued as scheduled under other leadership.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabey will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Oakhills First Word Chapel, under the direction of Bishop Harold Glen Clark. Friends may call at the Olpin-Sundherg: Mortuary in Orem Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel Thursday prior to services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery:

She had made her home in Provo since her marriage. She is survived by her husband of Provo, six sons and three daughters; Tanya, Lynn, Rebecca, David, Paul, Mark, Eric, Richard and Steven, all of Provo, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd. Anderson of Ogden; two brothers and one sister, Richard Lloyd Anderson of Provo, Karl Ricks Anderson of Clearfield and Mrs. Dale (Margaret Ann) Gustaveson o€ Ogden.
