Warsaw, Indiana [9] |
- Death has called another pioneer of Kosciusko county, Eli Mabie, of Tippecanoe township, passing away on Tuesday morning at 5:30 o'clock after a brief illness. Eli Mabie came to this county seventy-four years ago, when but six years of age, and has resided in Tippecanoe township practically all of that period. Eli Mabie was a man of strictest integrity. He had a kind and gentle disposition and held the high esteem of all his acquaintances. Only a short time ago he spent several days with his son in Warsaw, and his appearance did not indicate anything at all serious in his condition. While he had been ill only a few days previous to his demise, his death came suddenly and quite unexpected. He was born in Ohio on December 21, 1829, and passed away at the age of 80 years, five months, and eleven days. He was the father of Dr. W.A. Mabie, John B. Mabie, Mrs. Jeremiah McKenna and Mrs. Charles Weimer. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 o;clock on Thursday afternoon at North Webster. The cortege will leave the late home of the deceased at 1:30 p.m.
