- Herbert H Mabee died Sunday at home. He was 59.
He was born in Sparta and lived in Green Township for 29 years.
Mr Mabee was a tractor-trailer driver for Holland Manufacturing in Succasunna for the past 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Isabelle; two sons, Walter of Green Township and Edward of Nazareth, Pa; two daughters, Sherry Smith and Penny Gallagher, both of Ogdensburg; three brothers Arthur and Fred, both of Sparta, and Lawrence of Pennsylvania; five sisters Nora Cooper, Dorothy Talmage, and Marjorie Draughton all of Sparta, Mary Gobel of Florida and Evelyn Cancelerri of Jefferson and a grandson.

- Arthur W Mabee died yesterday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in East Orange. He was 76.
He was born in Warwick, NY, and lived in Newton before moving to Sparta in 1953.
Mr Mabee was a machine operator at Hamm's Sanitation, retiring in 1980. Previously he worked at P Kelly Inc in Sparta for 10 years and Arthur D Crane Co in Lake Shawnee for 23 years.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife Ida Mae; two sons, Arthur Jr of Montague and Robert of White Rock NY; two daughters, Rebecca Pease of Dover and Marjorie Conklin of Sparta; two brothers, Frederick of Sparta and Lawrence of Mount Ponoco, Pa; five sisters, Nora Cooper, Dorothy Talmage and Marguerita Draughton all of Sparta, Evelyn Cancelliere of Lake Hopatcong, and Mary Goble of Florida; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Gobel Funeral Home, Sparta.
