- Death of John D. Mabie John D. Mabie, of near North Webster, 65 years of age, passed away at his home at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday morning, resulting from a tumor with which he suffered for some time. He leaves a wife and six children, all married. The deceased was a brother of Dr. W.A. Mabie, of this city, and a man well known throughout the county. The funeral will be held at North Webster at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

- Mrs. Frank (Della ) Myers, 74, of the Etna community in Whitley County, died at approximately 7 o'clock Wednesday night at the McDonald Hospital. She had been ill with carcinoma for six months. Mrs. Myers was born in Kansas on Dec 24, 1874, the daughter of John and Anna Mabie. She was married to Frank Myers on Mar 8, 1899. Surviving are the husband; four sons, Charles, John, Chester, of near Etna, and Claude, of north of Warsaw; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Coyle, of Elkhart, Mrs. Jane Hickman, of near Syracuse, Mrs. Bertha Tom, of near North Webster, and Mrs. Helen Richards, of near Etna; two brothers, Ben Mabie, of North Webster, and Eli Mabie, of Cromwell; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Harp, of Ligonier; 39 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Boggs and Mrs. Laurah Miller, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Etna Methodist church, of which she was a member. Rev. Albert Rider will officiate, and burial will be in Salem cemetery at Wilnot. Friends may call at the Troxel funeral home in North Webster until noon Saturday, at which time the body will be taken to the church.

- Eli Mabie, 78, of North Webster, died of complications at 5:30 a.m. today in the Hillcrest Nursing Home, Columbia City. Mr. Mabie, who had been ill since Nov 9, was born in Kosciusko county on Jan 15, 1888, the son of John and Anna (Long) Mabie. In 1906 he was united in marriage to Fannie Snoke who preceded him in death in 1924. A retired farmer, Mr. Mabie was a member of the Mock Christian Church at North Webster where he had resided most of his lifetime. Survivors include four sons, Gerald Mabie, of Livonia, Eugene Mabie, of North Webster, Orvin Mabie, of Bristol, LaVon Mabie, of Columbia City; one brother and one sister, Ben Mabie and Mrs. Elizabeth Hart, both of North Webster; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Harris-Troxel Funeral Home at North Webster. Rev. Chester Reed will officiate. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Friday until the hour of the service

- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hart, 83, a lifetime resident of Kosciusko and Elkhart counties, died of complications following a hip fracture at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Murphy Medical Center. She had been ill for one week. A native of Garnet, Kansas., Mrs. Hart was born May 20, 1883 to John and Anna (Long) Mabie. Her husband, David L. Hart, preceded her in death. She was a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren. Survivors include five sons, Robert, Lloyd, and John Hart, all of Ligonier, Kenneth Hart, Claypool, Charles Wilbur Hart, Jones, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Madaline Rodman, Mrs. Dorothy Albricht, both of Gary; a brother, Benjamin Mabie, North Webster; 23 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harris-Troxell Chapel, North Webster. Rev. Chester Reed and Rev. Clayton Mock will officiate. Interment will be in Washington Union cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home until the hour of the service
