  	Mr D A Mabie, Sr, of Newburg, hanged himself at his home on Sunday night or early Sunday morning. He had been suffering from nervousness and dyspepsia and was about 75 years of age. He first attempted the job in the garret; hanging from a beam, but, the fall broke the rope. His wife and servant girl became frieghtened and took refuge in a room. The afterwards called in a watchman from the window who found that Mabie had hanged himself from a door knob. Making a noose and putting his head into it and then lying forward upon it with his face barely ten inches from the floor. The method by which he accomplished this work is certainly very strange.
