- On 29 Nov 1798, the following appeared in the Otsego Herald :
"Sheriff's Sales
By virtue of a writ of testation Fieri Facias, issued out of the Supreme Court and to me directed, against the goods and chattels, lands and tenements of Abraham I Mabey; I have taken two Cows, three Swinr, a quantity of Grain and Hay, and houssehold Furniture, and also the Potash and Farm, now occupied by said Mabey, situate in the town of Otsego, near Schuyler's Lake, said to be a lease for seven years, which I shall expose to public sale, on the fifteenth day of December next, on the saif land, at ten o'clock in the forenoon.
