- Sarah Mabee was born in Canada June 14, 1856. She removed with her parents to Fayette county, Illinois, where on November 1, 1874, she was united in marriage with Julius Schultz. In 1881 Mr Schultz and family moved to Oklahoma, where they resided until April, 1884, when they came to Chetopa, which has since been their home. On New Year's day this year Mrs Schultz was taken sick with stomach trouble and her illness, while not very severe, eventually affected her heart, from which she departed this life, Monday, January 31, 1916, at the age of 59 years, 6 months, and 17 days.
She leaves to mourn her loss the husband and five sons and one daughter as follows: Francis A Schultz of Parsons; Mrs O H Barker of Dueneweg, Mo, and Edward, Arthur, Leslie and Earl Schultz of Chetopa. She is also survived by four brothers, and two sisters, as follows, Samuel Mabee of Des Moines, Nelson Mabee of Sweet, Ida; Alfred Mabee of Stockton, Calif; Mrs Phoebe Stacy of Los Angeles, Mrs Abigail Bond of Des Moines; and Frank Mabee of Tennessee.....
Funeral services were held at he late home conducted by Rev S F Wishard, and burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.
