- Hazel Weibert was born and lived all her life in Fresno, CA. Hazel and her six siblings Don, Milton, Verna, Hellen, Harold and Gordon were born to Lewis and Lila Maybee. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1936, and attended Fresno city College for two years. She met her husband, Edwin Duane Weibert, in January of 1941, and they were married on August 16, 1941. Together they owned and operated the Jet coffee Shop, working side by side for 26 years. The restaurant was know for Hazel's famous homemade pies. She would bake as many as 50 pies a day. She would never let anyone enter her pies in the Fair, but everyone who ate them knew they were all blue ribbon winter. They sold the business and retired in 1984, and spent their leisure time traveling, spending time at the family ranch in North Fork, and attending their five grandsons' educational achievements and sporting events.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eddie; two sons, Arlen and Dennis; their wives, Gayle and Katy; four grandsons, Vince, Michael, Matthew and Nathaniel Weibert, all of Clovis, and a brother, Harold Maybee of Fishtail, MT.
Visitation will be held at Yost & Webb Funeral Home on Friday, August 18, 2000,
from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Services will be held at Peoples Church Chapel on Saturday, August 19, 2000, at 10:00 A.M. Graveside Services will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens, Cornelia and Whitesbridge, at 11:30 A.M.
