  Anecdote	Steve Mabie found Land Petitions for the following in which it is clearly stated that the individual was a son or daughter of Peter Secord Senior (with the date of the petition): Lucy Secord Goring, wife of Francis Goring, 25 May 1793 Lucretia Secord Bailey, widow, 7 May 1796 Silas Secord: Silas petitioned for land as a member of Butler's Rangers, but he also stated in one petition (24 November 1796) that he was a son of Peter Secord Senior. Also, in Margery Secord Millard's petition, Silas Secord testified that he was her brother and that their father was Peter Secord Senior. Fanny Secord Braily, wife of John Braily, 14 April 1797 Elizabeth Secord McKenzie, wife of Colin McKenzie, 20 August 1802 David Secord. In a petition filed on 6 July 1804, David Secord the Younger stated that he was the son of Peter Secord. Margery Secord Millard, wife of Dan Millard, 26 November 1804 and later Anna Secord Logan, age 34 (born circa 1794), 15 January 1829 Sarah Secord Snively, widow of George Snively, 10 July 1835 Presumably, both Anna and Sarah were born in the 1790s.Peter did not marry Rebecca Brown until 1807. It is possible that both girls were Rebecca's and that Peter adopted them.

  	He was a loyalist during the American rev. after the war ended he fled to New York City and with his family took a ship to New Brunswick Canada in 1783[CIT:TMG:297:1;] His cousin Peter Secord came with the Mabee party[CIT:TMG:299:1;]
  Anecdote	1792  [6]
  	The Mabee party, it is said, started for Upper Canada in the fall of 1792, but they wintered in Quebec and did not reach Turkey Point until some time in 1793. They drove twelve cows, rode horses, and employed an Indian guide to pilot the way through the wilderness Some members of the family claim that the settlement was made as early as 1791, while others say it was not made before 1794; but Mrs. Mabee and her family were living there in a comfortable log-house at the time of Governor Simcoe's visit in 1795. The grave of Frederick Mabee was there also, and a piece of ground known as the "Indian fields" had been cleared of its light growth of timber and cropped; all of which makes it appear quite reasonable that the family may have settled there, at least as early as 1793. The Mabee party consisted of Frederick Mabee and wife; Oliver Mabee, their eldest son, aged about nineteen; Simeon, the second son, aged about seventeen; Pellum, the youngest son, aged about twelve – at least, these were the ages of the sons at the time of the Governor's visit; two single daughters – Polly and Sally; and two married daughters – Nancy and Lydia, with their respective husbands – John Stone and Peter Teeple. It is said that Peter Secord, also, came with the Mabee family
  Obituary	Last month at Talbot Road in the London district Peter Secord died who had nearly completed his 103rd yr. His longevity may in some measure be ascribed to his remarkable temperance. He was one of the first settlers and perhaps the oldest inhabitant of the province. He killed four wolves in the course of last yr and walked twenty miles to make the necessary affidavit to entitle him to the wolf scalp bounty.
