  	LaVerda Verina Gee, 91-year-old Oakley resident, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2007 at the Cassia Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1915, in Marion, to John and Alice Mabey. She married Darvel Harold Gee on Nov. 27, 1933. LaVerda lived in Oakley, Rupert, and Seattle, Wash., and then settled in Oakley. She worked in various positions through her life including her father's farm, cooking at the church, working for Dr. Sutton, 12 years cooking for the Senior Citizen's Center. LaVerda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed Relief Society, Quilting Bees, and the cannery. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, collecting dolls, fishing, camping, hunting and vacationing with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria V. Vernet and Lorna L. Duesterhaus; four grandchildren, Jody Lingafelter, Wendell Archibald, Julie Thomas, and Dean Duesterhaus; three great grandchildren, Sarah Duesterhaus, Erin Duesterhaus, and Jaidyn Lingafelter; two brothers, Claude and Clyde Mabey and two sisters, Laraine Jones and Bethen Goold. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at the Oakley L.D.S. Stake Center with Bishop Gary Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at the Basin Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at the Hansen Mortuary Burley Chapel and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church.
