- Charles Mabey, an area resident for 17 years, passed away on Thursday June 17, 2004 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was 86. The son of the late Charles and Emma Gormley Mabey, he was born on September 8, 1917 in Paterson, NJ. Mr. Mabey was a Village Administrator for the City of Carey, Ohio. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Forestburgh. He also belonged to Fr. Justin Lyons Council # 550 Knights of Columbus, was a member of SCARS Ham Radio Club and was a life member of Butler NJ Volunteer Fire Dept. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Mabey at home; one son, William Mabey and his wife Minetta of Kinnelon, NJ; a stepson, Herman Struble and his wife Jan of Danbury, NH; a daughter, Marie Berry and her husband Robert of Mayville, WI; two stepdaughters, Sylvia Sanclementi of Port Jervis and Karen Pinkel and her husband Russell of Youngsville; a twin sister, Anna Weaver of Wayne, NJ; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Julia Whritenour, a brother, Martin Mabey and a sister Marie Sanford. Friends may call at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello on Sunday June 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday June 21 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10 AM with the Rev. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery in West Milford, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Forestburgh, NY or to the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are by Ramsay's Funeral Homes Inc. Monticello, NY.
