- Jack Leonard Williams, 210 N. 8th Street, St Joseph, Buchanan, Mo., born 18 Jun 1911 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, registered for the draft. He was employed by Swift and Co, South St Joseph. The person who would always know his address was his wife, Mrs Jesse A Williams, at the same address. He was White, 5' 6"", 168 pounds, had brown eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion.

- Percy G. Mabie, an employe of The Gazette composing room more than 25 years before his retirement in October 1948, died last night at a local hospital. He was 68 years old.
Mr Mabie, owner of the Mabie Printing Company before coming to the Gazette, was born at Rock Island, Ill., and had resided in St Joseph 50 years. He made his home at 1512 Jule street. Mr Mabie was a member of St. Joseph Typographical Union No. 40; King Hill Lodge No. 376 A. F. And M., and the Methodist Church at Moline, Ill.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Jessie Lee Mabie of the home and one son R. Thompson Mabie, program director of KFEQ; two daughters, Mrs Thelma Walker and Miss Jessie A. Mabie, all at home; one brother, Rollin A. Mabie, an employe of The News-Press composing room; a sister Miss Lola Mabie, formerly employed in The News-Press composing room; and two grandchildren, Dreeana Lee Walker and R Thompson Walker, both at home.
Services will be held tomorrow in the Heaton-Bowman chapel, Dr. Robert L. McLeod officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. The King Hill Lodge will conduct Masonic services at the chapel.

- Mrs Thelma O . Walker, 63, died early this morning at a St. Joseph hospital. She resided at 1512 Jule. She was born in St. Joseph and lived here all her life.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Robert R. Land, St. Joseph; a son S. Thompson Walker, San Rafael, Cal.; a sister Mrs Barton Pitts, of the home; a brother, R. Thompson Mabie of the home, and two grandchildren.
Service arrangements are pending at the Heaton-Bowman funeral home.
