- Fred C. Mabie, of 225 Union avenue died suddenly in Dr. Stanton Curry's office late Thursday night of angina pectoris. He had been in attendance at Cortlandt Lodge No. 34 F, & A. M., of which he was organist. Shortly afterward while with Walter H. Sager on the street Mr. Maine complained of feeling ill. They went to the office of Dr. E deM. Lyon who was out on a call, They then went to Dr. Curry's office and had just entered when Mr. Mabie collapsed and passed away.
The funeral services will be held tomorrow, Sunday, 2 p.m. at the home of his mother 225 Union avenue, in charge of Cortlandt Lodge No. 34, F. & A. M.
Mr. Mabie was born in the Mabie home on Brown street, Peekskill, November 25 1878,. the son of the late Dorlin Mabie and Mrs. Mabie. Practically his entire life was spent in Peekskill. For a long time he was in the employ of the New York Central Railroad as trainman and later conductor. At the time of his death he was in the employ of the Harvey Spring Service Co.
Mr. Mabie had been a member of Cortlandt Lodge No. 34, since March 20. 1902.
He Is survived by his mother Ida Lockwood Mabie and one brother Harold D. Mabie.

- "Harold Dorlin Mabie, … was born in Beaufort, So. Carolina, Feb 19, 1892, the son of Dorlin Mabie and Ida May Lockwood Mabie. He came to Peekskill in 1896 when his parents, who were Peekskill people, returned here from their twelve year sojourn in the South. He received his scholastic and business training from Drum Hill School, from which he was graduated in 1911, and from Pace Institute and Columbia University, New York City. In 1911 he became a member of the staff of the Westchester County Register’s Office and so continued until 1913, when he became a salesman with Bethlehem Steel Company, New York City and so continued until 1917. On May 25th of that year he enlisted in the United States Navy in World War I and served as member of the United States Naval Reserve with the rank of Ensign until March 17, 1919, when he received his honorable discharge and resumed his work with the Bethlehem Steel Company in which he continued until October, 1920 when he became Secretary and Director of the Alden Coal Mining Company. He continued with the Alden Coal Company from October 1920 until January, 1926, when he returned to Bethlehem Steel Co. … .
He has long been active in the religious, fraternal and public life of Peekskill. He was President of the Epworth League of the First Methodist Church in 1911 and 1912 and has been since December 20, 1947, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Peekskill Young Men’s Christian Association. He is a member of the Cortland Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 and was its President in 1922. He is a member of Cortland Lodge No. 34, Free and Accepted Masons, and was its Master in 1923. He is a Past Patron of Cortland Chapter No. 532, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Consistory of New York City, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. On Nov. 8, 1949 he was elected a member of the Common Council of the City of Peekskill, and served for a four year term, from 1950 and including 1953. At the meeting of the Common Council on Dec. 22, 1953, his fellow members unanimously adopted a Resolution testifying to the high esteem in which he is held by the people of Peekskill and expressing their appreciation of the consistent loyalty with which he had served the City and the time and service he had rendered as Councilman, "having been at all times motivated in his official capacity by the sole question as to what was the best for the progress and welfare of the City". As a further evidence of their esteem, the Mayor and Councilmen also presented him with a Councilmanic Badge.
He is a Methodist and a member of the First Methodist Church. In politics he is a Republican. His avocations are fishing and photography. His sports have been hunting, baseball, football, hockey, basketball and bowling.
On October 17, 1936, he married Miss Mildred Elizabeth Tucker. They have three children: Harold Dorlin Mabie, Jr.; Barbara Ann Mabie and James Tucker Mabie.
