Born and raised in Berkeley, CA. Eagle Scout Troop 24. Berkeley High '36, National Sea Scout Flagship SSS "Sea Hawk" 1938. San Francisco State until the war. Naval commission 1942. Flying the PMB Marlin patrol bomber seaplane. MIT and Monterey Naval Post Graduate School. Stayed in the Navy for 25 years. Flying the JRM-12 Martin Mars out of Alameda NAS (now used as fire fighting planes in Canada). Navigator on the USS Hornet CVS-12 (now at Alameda) 1958-59. Executive Director of Easter Seal Society Santa Clara County after naval retirement. Owner of Ranchland Saddlery in San Jose. 1993 Endowment Fellow of Rotary International San Jose Chapter. All around good guy whose actions spoke louder than his words. But when he did speak, he was the funniest in the room. He will be missed.
