Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin [6] |
- Charles E Mabee was born at Green, Butler county, Iowa, Sept 14, 1869, and died at New Richmond, Nov 6, t the age of 63 years.
Mr Mabee spent his boyhood years with his parents at Greene, Ia, and attended the public school there. Later he took a course in a nearby business college and shortly after completing the course he entered upon a business career. He was very successful in conducting the business of a variety store in Green and Brooklyn, Ia, in Alexandra, Minn, and in Menomonie and New Richmond. He loved his work and gave himself whole-heartedly to its interest.
In Nov 1912 he was united in marriage to Angeline Stenerson of Menomonie. To this happy union one daughter was born, Miss Mary Gail. Shortly after he moved to New Richmond his wife took sick and died. He continued with his business and the care of his daughter and home until October of 1927, when he was married to Ruth Schnell of New Richmond, who became his loving companion and wife to him and a kind mother to his daughter. On Dec 17, 1928 a son, Roger Charles, was born to them, but died in infancy.
Although never united with any church he was a believer in the principles of the Christian religion and quite regularly attended the church services on Sunday....
Surviving are his beloved wife and companion, his daughter, Mary Gail, his brother, Fred L Mabee, Minneapolis; his three sisters, Miss A C Mabee and Mrs E E Hunt, Minneapolis, and Mrs J W Arnott of Belgrade, Minn....
The body was laid to rest in the Huntington cemetery....
