- Ray L. Mabey of Franklinville passed away Thursday, August 12, 1965, at Cuba Memorial Hospital. Services at Babbitt & Allen Funeral Home were held Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Fred S. Bull, retired United Presbyterian minister officiated, and burial was in the Cuba Cemetery.
Born in Lyndon, N. Y., March 24, 1890, Mr. Mabey had lived in Franklinville for
the past 20 years. He served as superintendent of the Cattaraugus County Highway Department until his retirement in 1958.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ella Nix Mabey; two sons, George Mabey and Gerald N. Mabey, both of Cuba; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Dr. M. H. Mabey of Cuba and J. Ross Mabey of Dallas, Texas.
Memorials are being made to the Cuba Memorial Hospital.

- Mrs. Ella B. Mabey, Maple Ave. Franklinville, widow of Ray Mabey, died Saturday, June 28,1969 at Cuba Memorial Hospital following a two-weeks illness The Rev. George Mighels, pastor of the Franklinville Presbyterian Church officiated at services Tuesday at the Babbitt and Allen Funeral Home, and burial was in the Cuba Cemetery.
Born in Lyndon August 15, 1894, Mrs. Mabey was the daughter of George and Frances Allen Nix. She had lived in Franklinville since 1945, a member of the Presbyterian Church Ladies Circles and the Senior Citizens group. Her husband, the late Ray Mabey, died in 1965.
She leaves two sons living in Cuba, George W. Mabey and Gerald N. Mabey; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harold Chesbro of Olean; a brother Leon Nix, Branton, Ontario, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are being made to the building fund of Cuba Memorial Hospital

- Gerald N. Mabey, 74, of West Bristol Street, Cuba, New York, died Sunday in Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Mabey founded the Cuba Insurance Agency and also operated Mabey Real Estate, Inc. and was a real estate developer in the Cuba area. He attended the Cuba First Baptist Church. He was a member of Cuba Lodge #306 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Corning Consistory, Cuba Post #655 American Legion, Cuba Rotary Club, Cuba Chamber of Commerce, Cuba Lake Cottage Owner's Association, It's Your Heart Club, American Diabetes Association, the former Cuba Kiwanis Club, was a charter member of the First Lion's Club of Cuba, the N.Y.S. Election Commissioner's Association. Professional Insurance Agent's Association of N. Y. and Independent Insurance Agent's Association of N. Y. He was pre-deceased by his brother, George W. Mabey. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (nee Oelkers) Mabey, formerly of North Tonawanda: one son, Brian C. (Kathy) Mabey of Cuba: two daughters, Sue M. Johnson of Cuba and Mrs. John (Cindy) Bornhurst of Houston, Texas: five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc.,Nicholson Chapel, 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma will officiate. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cuba Memorial Hospital or the American Heart Association

- At a candlelight, double ring service at 7 p. m. September 22, in North Presbyterian Church, Miss Mary Jane Oelkers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl L. Oelkers of 39 Pine Woods Drive became the bride of Lt. Gerald N. Mabey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Mabey of Franklinville, N. Y. The Rev. G. Howard Mickelsen officiated.
The bride was attired in a white lace gown, princess style with a sweetheart neckline and long pointed sleeves. Her fingertip veil fell from a seed pearl tiara and she carried a shower bouquet of gardenias and pompons. She wore a pearl necklace, the gift of the groom.
Mrs. John W. Oelkers, the matron of honor, wore a dusty rose silk jersey gown, with full draped skirt, the bodice having sweetheart neckline and bracelet length sleeves. A shoulder length net veil fell from a dusty rose flower tiara. Her bouquet was of deep pink roses and white pom-poms. The maid of honor. Miss Ruth Richards of Lockport, and bridesmaid, Mrs. Henry Juul of Buffalo, were gowned alike in hyacinth blue silk jersey gowns, fashioned like that of the matron of honor. They wore matching shoulder length veils caught with flowers. Miss Richards carried a medium shade of pink roses and pom-poms, Mrs. Juul's bouquet was of light pink roses and pompoms.
George W. Mabey of Cuba, N. Y., acted as best man and Clifford Booth of Olean, Frederick Swift and Donald Witherall of Cuba and Robert Litchka of North Tonawanda were the ushers.
Mrs. Carl Oelkers, mother of the bride, wore a black dress with a blue vest and black hat trimmed with blue ostrich tips. Mrs. Mabey, the groom's mother, chose a black dress with pink trimming and a black hat with pink ostrich tips. Each wore a corsage of pink roses and delphinium.
A reception for 250 guests was held at the home of the bride. Out of town guests came from Daytona Beach, Fla., Canada, Olean, Cuba, Niagara Falls, Lockport and Buffalo.
The bride received her B.S. degree from Buffalo State Teachers College and has been a member of Cuba Central school faculty, Cuba, N. Y. Lt. Mabey served 38 months overseas with the Transportation Corps. He is a graduate of Cuba high school and Westbrook Academy at Olean, N. Y.
