- Mr. Joseph Allen Mabie died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born May 26, 1919 in Bluefield, WV, Mr. Mabie was the son of the late Harry and Ester Mabie. He graduated from Fort Union Military Academy and was a Merchant Marine Officer. He worked as an engineer for Ford Motor Company for 33 years and was a member of Elks Lodge 2997. Mr. Mabie was also a member of the Shriners in Michigan and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #596 in Mio, Michigan.
Mr. Mabie was a member of Belin United Methodist Church.
Mr. Mabie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; and his niece, Diane Wolmack of Arkansas.
