- Craig, Neb., Feb 10 – Mrs Harry Mabie, aged 20 years, died of pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the home roday. Her father, W. D. Romans, is also very low fgrom the same disease. Mrs Mabie leaves no children, having lost a boy last summer. Her husband survives her.

- Ponca. Neb., Jan 14 – Funeral services for Henry DeWitt Mabie, 74, a prominent horseman, who in the early days shipped many horses from Iowa to Texas, were held in the home of his daughter, Mrs Louis Rahn, being conducted by Rev. Mr. Smith, of the Presbyterian church. Interment was made in Silver Ridge cemetery.
Mr Mabie was born in Wisconsin in 1850 and after his marriage to Miss Laura Jane Eddy, located in Iowa. In 1893, his first wife having died, he came to Nebraska and was married to Mrs Ida Lawson at Craig in 1898. He is survived by three daughters; Mrs Fred Curry and Mrs Louis Rahn, both of Ponca, and Mrs Dwight A. Payne, of Waterloo, Ia.; one son, Harry Mabie, of Stanton; and two step-children; Will Lawson of Ponca and Mrs Orville McCoun, of Brooklings, S. D.

- Mrs Nina Payne, 602 Wyoming St., died at 12:15 p. m. Wednesday at her home of a heart attack.
She was born on Mar. 18, 1887, at Randalia, Ia., the daughter of Henry D. And Laura J. Babie [Mabie]. She was married to Dwight A. Payne on Dec 22, 1911, in Waterloo and resided here since then.
Mrs Payne was a member of the Union Gospel church.
Surviving are her husband at home; two sons, Monroe Payne, 1210 Beaver; Dwight A. Payne, Jr., four daughters, Mrs Duane Corrigan, 1024 Creston Ave.; Mrs Milton Weidman, 213 Mobile; Mrs Jean Kressley, 1008 Thorndale; Mrs Jay Jones, Arenas Valley, N. M.; and one brother, Harry Mabie, Englewood, Calif., and 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers.
The body is at Parrott & Wood funeral home. Services are planned for Monday.
