- A solemn requiem mass was offered today in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal R. C. Church, Ridgewood, for George S. Mabee. former assistant to the general manager of the United States Lines, who died Tuesday at Houston. Texas, where he had resided recently. He was 57 and had been ill for about eight months. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery
During a varied career, Mr. Mabee had worked in the General Post Office, was an accountant; and salesman for an importing and exporting firm, and was associated with the Hotel Wellington in Manhattan. He also had been an auditor for the New York Edison Company, and was with the Turner Construction Company and the United States Housing Corporation. He joined the United States lines In 1924 and was assistant to the general manager from 1926 to 1929. Later he was an executive of the Palm Oil Products Company in Manhattan. .Surviving are his widow. Mrs. Vida Mabee, and a son, Howard Mabee
