- Melvin Robert Maybee, 85, passed away Jan. 15, 2010, at his residence in Douglas City.
He was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Nebraska City, Neb.
Mr. Maybee valued his brothers and sisters, his children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces as the most important aspects of his life. He loved them dearly. The joy of his life was his wife and soul mate of 48 yearns, Garland "GG" Maybee. They lived together in love and mutual respect for the last 25 years in their wonder-ful home on the banks of the beautiful Trinity River near Weaverville.
Mr. Maybee's professional life was in the military, where he was a meteorologist for 20 years for the United States Air Force. He also served as a combat air crew bombardier in World War II and the Korean War, and he was awarded the Air Force Air Medal. He was honorably discharged In 1963 He was very proud of his service to his country.
Mr. Maybee is survived by his sisters Shirley Lutge of San Francisco, Lois Prather of Glenwood, Iowa, Margie Melton of Lincoln, Neb., Jackie Tibbels of West Point, Neb., and Nancy, Michaels of Lincoln, Neb.; and brothers Harold Maybee of Clearwater, Fla., Allen Maybee of Scotts Bluff Neb., and Patrick Bressler/Maybee of Sacramento. He was the proud father of Bruce, Nora and Hope, and had three grandchildren. He was preceded to death by his sister, Josephine Livingston, and brothers Charles and Leo.
Mr. Maybee requested that his remains be cremated. A private memorial service was held Jan. 21, 2010, in Weavenille.
Arrangements are being handled by Forrest Funeral Home in Weavervtlle.

- Harold Wayne Maybee, 89, of Clearwater, passed away Tuesday January 19, 2016. Harold was born April 24, 1926 to Charles and Pansey (Bates) Maybee in Lincoln NE. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Maybee of Clearwater, 2 brothers; Larry Maybee and Pat Bressler, 4 sisters; Shirley Lutge, Lois Prather, Jackie Tibbles, and Margie Melton. Harold is also survived by 3 grandsons; Michael, Paul, and Joseph, 4 Great Grandchildren; Natalia, Mason, Jayden, and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Charles Maybee, Robert Maybee, and Leo Maybee, 2 sisters; Josephine Livingston, and Nancy Michael.
Visitation will be held Saturday January 23, 2016 from 12 – 2 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. Entombment, with Military Honors, will follow immediately in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
