- Mark Andrew Mabey, 54, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 3, 2013, after an
eight-year battle with a brain stem tumor. His family is comforted in knowing that he is at peace and in the presence of His Loving Savior, Jesus Christ. Mark was born in Fort Worth on Aug. 21, 1958, the son of Earl and Jeanne Mabey. He graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1976 and Texas A&M University in 1980 where he received a degree in meteorology. He also did graduate studies at Texas Tech University. Mark served as an aviation meteorologist with American Airlines for over 15 years. Mark had a passion for studying weather from the time he was in junior high and interned with the great Harold Taft. Mark was one of Mr. Taft's official weather watchers. He had a love of travel and photography. He traveled the world capturing the beauty of God's creation on film. Mark will always be remembered for his loving, caring, and compassionate spirit and willingness to help those in need. Even in the past two years with the numerous medical challenges, he faced, he trusted in God and his courage and strength were an inspiration to others. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Earl Mabey. Survivors: Wife, Kristina Mabey, Bedford; son, Cameron Alexander Mabey; daughters, Ashley Leighann Mabey and Allison Nicole Mabey; mother, Jeanne Mabey, Fort Worth; brother, Charles Mabey and wife, Kathy, Fort Worth; sisters, Cindy Redmond and husband, Michael, Bangs, Julie Hargrave and husband, Rickey, McKinney; his in-laws, Frederik E Ager and wife, Mariann Ager, Arlington; as well as a large extended family that loved him dearly
