- A memorial service was to be conducted today for John W Grant, 93, Visalia, who died Thursday in a Visalia convalescent hospital.
A native of Scotland, he came to California as a boy and settled in the Chino Area, where he farmed most of his adult life. He married Aloha Mabie in Ontario in November 1931. They moved to Visalia in 1966 when Mr Grant retired.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Pirie Grant, Othello, Wash, and Donald Grant, Visalia; one daughter, Jean Harenburg, Boise, Idaho; one brother George Grant, Upland; three sisters, Peggy Faber, Orange, Isabell McKensie, Fullerton, and Helen Craig, Pasadena; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
