- DRYDEN - Evelyn A. Maybee, age 84, of Route 38, Dryden, NY passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Groton Nursing Facility.
Born July 12, 1931 in Harford, NY she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Irene Pudney Austin.
She graduated valedictorian of her class at Dryden High School in 1949. On November 20, 1953 she married George A. Maybee at Dryden, NY who survives. She was a secretary at Cornell University in the School of Labor Relations for 30 years and a member of the Dryden United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, George A. Maybee, Evelyn is survived by her sons, Clayton (Ann) Maybee of Freeville, NY and Stephen (Loretta Heimbuch) Maybee of Trumansburg, NY; six grandchildren, Charlie Heimbuch Skaley, Tiffany Heimbuch Maybee, Craig Maybee (Candice Maybee), Cory Maybee, Cassandra Gaines (Collin Gaines) and Kathryn Pargett (Timothy Pargett); great-grandchildren, Sabrina Pargett, Andrew Maybee, and Alexander Maybee; cousins, Rev. James Mott of Binghamton, NY and Richard McKee of CT.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her sister, Frances Austin; and her aunts, Helen McKee and Essie Mott.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY with Rev. Harold Wheat officiating.
Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY.

- Doris M. Maybee, of 24 Elm St, Trumansburg, passed away at Hospicare on May 10, 2008, at the age of 84.
Born in Ithaca, Doris was the daughter of Harry and Clara Harris Burgess. She owned and operated Doris' Luncheonette on Aurora Street in Ithaca until 1960. For many years Doris worked at the County Home on Rt. 96. She was a 40 year member of the Arthur E. Bouton American Legion Post #770 Auxiliary in Trumansburg.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; three great-great-grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson and Joseph and Trevor Woodard; one nephew, Richard White; two brothers-in-law, Edward Maybee and Paul White and one daughter-in-law, Elaine Maybee.
She is survived by two daughters, Dianna L. (Paul) Schooley of Trumansburg and Alice M. (Keith) Sunda of Breaux Bridge, LA; two step-sons, Gary (Mary Ann) Maybee of Dryden and Richard Maybee of Ithaca; one sister, Virginia White of Ithaca; one sister-in-law, Georgia (CO) Brown of Groton; two brothers-in-law, George (Evelyn) Maybee of Dryden and James (Marge) Maybee of Romulus; seven grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 1-2 pm. Services, also at the funeral home, will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday with the Rev. Dr. John Kotun officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow at Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg.
