- Mr. Joseph Allen Mabie died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born May 26, 1919 in Bluefield, WV, Mr. Mabie was the son of the late Harry and Ester Mabie. He graduated from Fort Union Military Academy and was a Merchant Marine Officer. He worked as an engineer for Ford Motor Company for 33 years and was a member of Elks Lodge 2997. Mr. Mabie was also a member of the Shriners in Michigan and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #596 in Mio, Michigan.
Mr. Mabie was a member of Belin United Methodist Church.
Mr. Mabie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth; and his niece, Diane Wolmack of Arkansas.

Born in Mentor, OH, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Esther Jenne. Ruth was a member of Belin Memorial United Methodist Church and was also a former member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Mabie of 70 years; two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include two nieces and nephew; five great-nieces and nephews and three great-great- nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
