  Anecdote	Ernest Edward Mabee was the brother of Hannah Mabee, born in Sydney in 1877. He enlisted (aged 39) on 9 Dec 1915 and his war record (4167) is available online. He was born in Wolloomooloo. He had previously served in South Africa. He was single, working as a storeman. His next of kin is his mother, Hannah Price, of Oxford Street, Burwood, which is also his address. Religion C of E. He is 5 ft 5½ ins, of sallow complexion. He was sick in France, and returned to Australia in 1919 with ‘debility' from ‘neurasthenia'. On the ship home, pulmonary TB was diagnosed. He returned from war, but his death in 1921 was regarded as caused by his injuries, and his name in on the war memorial in Canberra. His brother John Henry (of Glebe) also applied to enlist in 1915, but was not accepted.
