  	Margaret E. Van Vleet, 82, of Gowrie died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Gowrie Care Center. Services will be Friday at Gowrie United Methodist Church and burial will be in Gowrie Township Cemetery. Mrs Van Vleet was born in Gowrie and returned in 1958 after 26 years in Des Moines, where she had been a beautician at the Savery Hotel. Surviving are a daughter Sharon Faulkner of Tucson, Ariz; a son Paul Mabee of Story City; three stepsons, Gerald of Los Angeles, Eugene of Washington, W. Va' and Clifford of Des Moines; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren

  	Paul F. Mabee, 70, of Story City, died April 23, 2011, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be at a later date in Story City Municipal Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Paul was born on July 18, 1940, in Des Moines, to Wilmott and Margaret (Moburg) Mabee. He grew up in Gowrie and graduated from Gowrie High School in 1958. He attended Linotype School in Charles City. He married Carolyn Johnson on July 7, 1959. They have four children, Mark (Michele) Mabee, Marty Mabee, Melissa (Scott) Swanson and Marcia Mabee; and three grandchildren, Morgan Swanson, Matt Swanson and Mason Mabee. Paul and Carolyn lived most of their married life in Story City, more than 45 years in the same home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Van Fleet; his father, Wilmott Mabee; his stepfather, Rex Van Fleet; one granddaughter Ashley Mabee; and his dog, Abby
